Mine Risk Education is accepted as an important part of the learning process in more than 331 villages of 64 communities in 25 districts. The officials of the communities have been accepted as contact persons and cooperate with the local MRE volunteers represented by village teachers, members of different communities sectors, medical employees, districts committees of emergency situations, women communities councils, local journalists and youth committees. Under coordination, the TMAC MRE Programme targets the proper dissemination of the MRE educational information into the community, and to implement various training at community, district and country level. This training includes subjects such as Effective Communication in MRE, Gender Mainstreaming in MRE, First Aid in MRE, Role of Mass Media in MRE, MRE for the Frontiers and their collaboration with the border communities, Role of Emergency Situation in MRE, MRE for the School, MRE and Psychology which have been valued by the MRE implementing communities group positively. The MRE Programme focuses on close collaboration with affected communities and involves them taking into consideration the MRE knowledge for their safety existence in areas affected by landmine hazards. The purpose is to involve of the communities’ members, and enable them to disseminate MRE knowledge, and be able to follow up their new knowledge through many activities at a community level.
